THE LESSER KNOWN CHILD IN CHINESE WATCH MAKER HISTORY
Not many may know this, but the Shanghai Zuanshi (Diamond) Watch Factory had a
long and illustrious history comparable to her famous rival; Shanghai Watch
Factory.
In 1932, Koo Hai Zhen opened a clock factory in Shanghai called Tak On Clock
Factory. Those days, the clcoks were branded “Double Arrow”.
In 1937, the Japanese bombed and destroyed the factory in World War I. Left
with nothing, Hai Zhen rebuilt the factory in the following year.
The factory was now called Jin Zing (Gold Star) Industrial Association.
Production of the alarm clocks bearing the now-famous Diamond brand name was
henceforth born.
Buy yourself a beautiful piece of history in this 1950s alarm clock, in perfect
